Skin Care

We prioritize skin care at our Roanoke, VA, practice and treat it as an important part of comprehensive facial rejuvenation.

Over the course of our lives, sun exposure, air pollution, stress, and aging cause the appearance of our skin to deteriorate. With time, the skin’s ability to properly renew itself diminishes resulting in skin irregularities such as wrinkles, discoloration, and loss of volume. Because of this, we encourage you to take proper care of your skin to both maintain health and prevent signs of aging.

Skin Peels

Skin peels can be an effective noninvasive approach to facial rejuvenation. They can erase skin irregularities including rough patches, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, and wrinkles. We offer SilkPeels® and Biomedic Micropeels, which are designed to remove the outer layer of dead skin cells, facilitating a more uniform skin renewal process and allowing better absorption of our medical grade products applied to the skin.

OxyGeneo™ Facial Treatment

Aesthetic Surgery of Virginia is proud to offer the OxyGeneo super facial. This treatment begins by exfoliating the upper layer of skin in order to remove the dead cells. In the second phase of the treatment, the exclusive Capsugen tip of the machine cleanses the skin and delivers nutrient rich ingredients, either NeoRevive™ (rejuvenation and anti-aging) or NeoBright™ for skin brightening and texture smoothing. The third and last phase of the treatment produces CO2 bubbles on the skin surface, resulting in an increased blood flow and oxygenation to the treated area. This allows the active ingredients to be optimally absorbed.

The NeoBright formula contains Azelaic Acid to treat hyper-pigmentation, Kojic Acid to inhibit melanin production, and Retinol to increase collagen and skin cell production. The NeoRevive formula contains Hyaluronic Acid to regain lost moisture and volume (thus reducing wrinkles), peptides that also aid in skin hydration, and Retinol to increase collagen and skin cell production.

The treatment takes about thirty minutes and leave the skin of your face feeling soft, smooth, bright, and wonderful!

Microdermabrasion

This treatment combines mechanical exfoliation with a vacuum to remove the top layer of dead skin cells. Patients experience little discomfort and the procedure requires little to no downtime. Most patients return to their normal daily activities immediately.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

IPL is a photorejuvenation treatment designed to improve the appearance of sun and age spots, photoaged skin, redness stemming from broken capillaries, and brown pigmentation. This treatment uses broad spectrum light to target sun damage on virtually any part of the body. Most often patients request treatments on the face, neck, chest, and hands. These treatments typically require little to no downtime.

Fraxel® Laser Treatment

The laser penetrates deep into the dermis and works to eliminate old pigmented cells with utmost precision, leaving the surrounding, healthy tissues unharmed. This fractional approach allows the skin to heal much more quickly than from ablative lasers. After treatment, irregularities break down and disappear as new healthy skin appears.

Baby Foot

The friction and pressure of everyday activities such as walking, exercising, and simply wearing shoes can lead to the accumulation of dead skin cells on the soles of the feet. This build-up can cause cracked skin and discomfort. Baby Foot is a product made up of 17 types of natural extracts that simultaneously exfoliate and moisturize skin on the feet. The principal ingredient is fruit acid, which penetrates deeply into layers of dead skin cells and breaks down the connective bands holding the layers together over the course of about 7 to 10 days. Once the process is complete, the dead tissues can be peeled away, revealing healthy skin.

Jane Iredale® Makeup

Known as The Skin Care Makeup, the Jane Iredale® line is safe for sensitive skin. It is recommended by plastic surgeons and dermatologists around the world. The makeup is made up of a highly sophisticated blend of minerals and pigments that are micro-pulverized using proprietary technology to form microscopic flat crystals. These crystals overlap each other on the skin to form a filter that allows the skin to breathe and function normally while protecting it from airborne pollutants.

The makeup is long-lasting, and because the powders are water-resistant, they won’t crease or smear, even during strenuous exercise. Additionally, they are offered in a wide range of colors and shades to match every skin tone.

Permanent Makeup

Permanent makeup, otherwise known as cosmetic tattooing, can streamline your morning routine. It is a nonsurgical treatment that utilizes intradermal pigmentation techniques that can eliminate the need for daily applications of lip liner, eye liner, and other common makeup products. This can be especially helpful for women with cosmetic allergies, vision impairments, unsteady hands, and busy schedules.

Butterfly™ Eyelash Extensions

Butterfly Lash Solutions are made from single strands of synthetic lashes. They are curved to closely resemble natural lashes, and they come in a variety of different lengths and thicknesses to choose from. Each Butterfly Lash is secured, one by one, to your own eyelashes, creating beautiful, natural-looking results.
